ICT Innovation Academy rechristened

The CSI Academy commenced (named the "ICT Innovation Academy") in the summer of 2004/2005. It has operated extremely successfully with close to 100 students and over 40 companies participating since that time. Please visit our Project Exemplars page for a list of examples. We are very much looking forward to your participation in 2007~2008 round.

John Hosking Welcomes ICECCS Attendees

CSI Co-chief Scientist Professor John Hosking gave the welcome address this morning to the International Conference on Engineering of Complex Computer Systems at the University of Auckland. John spoke on the human factors involved in forging industry-academic linkages and highlighted several initiatives the CSI has established to foster industry engagement including the Extenda programme and ICT Innovation Academy.

Software Process and Product Improvement Grant Awarded

Foundation for Research, Science and Technology awards CSI $3.4 million grant for Software Process and Product Improvement project with NZ ICT companies.

The Centre for Software Innovation has been successful in its bid to run a project on Software Process and Product Improvement, to be funded by the New Zealand Foundation for Research, Science and Technology. The project will run from 1st October 2007 for four years and will receive FRST funding of approximately $3.4 million dollars. read more »

Elderly Care Robots: Kiwi-Korean Joint Initiative

Through the CSI, an exciting project between the University of Auckland (UofA) and ETRI (Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute) Korea to advance care for the aged and disabled day-to-day services is currently being developed. The technologies and expertise of ETRI and the UofA bring unique capabilities to a new partnership for research into this vital and pressing area of population health.
